A gourmet hideaway on a hilltop ital farm in the hills of St. Ann. "Stush" is patois for posh, and that is the promise kept: rustic meets gourmet, ranked among North America's 50 Best Restaurants, open just two afternoons a week.
The story
The experience unfolds over four to five hours at ZionItes Farm, Lisa and Chris Binns' regenerative ital garden above St. Ann's Bay. It begins with an earth walk through the gardens with Chris, learning what grows and why, before Lisa's prix fixe seasonal menu arrives course after course at a communal table, plant-based Jamaican cuisine refined to fine-dining level, with curated wine, craft beer and cider pairings for those who want them. Seatings are Fridays and Sundays at 1 p.m. only, around $227 per person, booked online well in advance; private bookings can be arranged on other days. Saturday is their day of rest, no exceptions, and that tells you everything about how this place is run: on their land, by their rhythm, at the standard that put a two-person farm kitchen among the best restaurants on the continent.
Good to know
Like every place on Jamaica Outback, Stush in the Bush is a locally owned, family-run business — reviewed by hand, welcomed by name. When you visit, you’re supporting the community directly.
